Hi, my name is Bongi
I am a Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapist, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapist and a Registered Mental Health Nurse.
I have been actively supporting people in the mental healthcare sector for over 15 years in both the NHS and the private services, initially as a mental health nurse with both children and adults from 2009, and then as a CBT Psychotherapist when I qualified in 2017.
I take a person centred approach in my work with people. It is important that in our therapeutic journey, we have a shared understanding of your individual needs and how this will guide the therapeutic process. I offer a safe and supportive space for you to explore the challenges you are facing, while empowering you to make meaningful change and improving your mental wellbeing. Therapy provides a safe and confidential space to explore and understand your emotions, thoughts and behaviours. I would like to help you find ways of coping with challenges, gaining insight into personal struggles and unhelpful cycles that negatively impact your mental health and ultimately helping you to develop healthier ways of managing these difficulties so you can live a happier life.
In order for therapy to be successful, it will be important that we have a good therapeutic relationship as client and therapist, where we can have openness, honesty, trust and empathy, so that you can feel safe and be understood. Therapy requires a lot of hard work and commitment to make positive change, so before embarking on this journey, it will be important for you to explore how ready you are to be open, be consistent and do the work required outside of the therapy room. As your therapist, I will endeavour to ensure I apply a tailored approach to your treatment to meet your needs, offer a safe space and allow you the time and patience to work on making positive change.
